The 60th Krakow Film Festival will be held from May 31 to June 7, 2020. It not only be special because of its jubilee nature but also due to the situation that we are currently facing. Following numerous restrictions imposed on the film industry and extraordinary emergency measures implemented as a result of COVID-19 pandemic, festival authorities have decided to move this year’s edition entirely online. The most recent documentary, animated and short films from all around the world, long-awaited Polish premieres and meetings with filmmakers will all be available from the safety of our homes.

Under these unusual festival circumstances, Maria Is Not Alive – a short feature film directed by Martyna Majewska will be having its world premiere, as it has been selected to be a part of the national competition. Centrala is the executive producer of the film, which had originated from Munk Studio’s 30 minutes programme. The cast includes Małgorzata Gorol as Maria (well-known from Mug by Małgorzata Szumowska which had premiered at Berlinale in 2018) as well as Małgorzata Foremniak, Helena Sujecka, Paweł „Popek” Mikołajuw and others.
