The Moths by Piotr Stasik in Cannes!

02 Jun 2020 The Moths by Piotr Stasik in Cannes!

The New Horizons International Film Festival is one of the four international film festivals invited to present selected films in the prestigious Goes to Cannes program. Our feature film The Moths directed by Piotr Stasik is amongst 5 Polish projects chosen for this year’s edition.

Goes to Cannes is one of the highest-profile industry events, where selected films in various stages of production that do not yet have sales agents, distributors or set premiere dates are being presented to members of the international industry during one of the biggest film markets – Marché du Film, organised within the Cannes Film Festival. Regardless of the cancellation of the festival itself, Marché du Film is scheduled to take place online between 22-26 of June.

While being a very successfull documentary filmmaker up until now, Stasik is going to make his feature film directional debut with The Moths. His short fiction The Last Day of Summer („Koniec lata”, 2010), also produced by Centrala Film, won awards in Wiesbaden, Perm and a Golden Frog at Camerimage. A Diary of a Journey („Dziennik z podróży”, 2013) was appreciated in Kiev and Krakow, and 21 x New York („21 x Nowy Jork”, 2016) was nominated for the European Film Award.
